It’s Flu Season now!

Hello,

It’s that time of year when the flu shows no mercy to anyone. The doctor offices are full of people of every age. Many people have chosen to have their flu shots and flu mist to ward off a potential bout with an illness. However, I have heard that if you are allergic to eggs, you should NOT receive the flu shot and mist. Here , are a few ideas to simply remind or inspire you so you can stay on the healthy train! As always, ask your doctor about vitamin supplements and any changes you may want to make before you actually make a change. Some medications do not work well with certain vitamins. ALWAYS ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!!!

This is what our family does to try and prevent an illness outbreak:

1. We continually use hand sanitizer and or also wash with warm water and soap.

2. Stay away from sick people.

3. Get plenty of sleep.

4. Eat healthy.

5. We take our Vitamin C.

6. Dress appropriately for the weather and temp conditions. Coats, hats, gloves, boots, and scarves were made for a reason and are very helpful.

7. Drink plenty of water, orange juice, (or other juices as well) but Orange Juice is extremely packed full of Vitamin C. We also drink Gatorade to stay hydrated.

8. Eat oranges everyday. Make sure you and your family are eating healthy meals everyday.

9. We clean our hands every time we come out of a store. Those shopping carts are LOADED with all types of grossness.

10. If you’re having trouble with chapped lips because of the harsh weather, we have the greatest success in curing this issue by using Chapstick.

11. If you do end up with a sick family member or even you get sick, use Lysol or Clorox wipes and cleanse all doorknobs, stair handrails,TV Remote controllers, toilet flushers, cabinet door handles, countertops, and light switches. There are a lot of other things that can be wiped down. I even spray Lysol on our couches. I require that my sick family member remain in their rooms while the illness lingers.

12. We use Vick’s vapor Rub for soothing a light cough and or a stuffy nose. It is also great on general achey muscles.

I hope these ideas help in aiding you toward staying healthy or helping to bring you back to health if you should catch a bug!

Oh yes, one more thought:

We keep a supply of Saltine Crackers, canned pears, Jello, Ginger-ale, and Chicken Noodle Soup on hand, just in case we get sick and are unable to go get them due to an illness.

Stay Healthy, live well, take great care of yourself because we really do need everybody!

Above all, pray everyday!
